WE ARE
Raza Cósmica is a creative duo based in Mexico City, comprising Frida Gutiérrez and Melanie Joyce. Frida, originally from Tijuana, and Melanie, a native of the capital, met while studying cinematography at the Asociación Mexicana de Cineastas Independientes (AMCI) and CENTRO, where they discovered a shared affinity for art direction and production design.
Through their company, Raza Cósmica—founded three years ago—they have built a visual identity that transcends labels, exploring the intersection of aesthetics and emotion, and of narrative and sensibility. They have collaborated on commercial projects, music videos, podcasts, and short films, bringing a perspective that blends the dreamlike, the symbolic, and the human.
Since the beginning of their careers, they have worked closely with Universal Music and Sony Music, solidifying strong creative relationships with both companies and participating in numerous projects that have allowed them to explore diverse forms of visual storytelling within the music industry.
Their work has been featured in productions and campaigns for brands such as Versace, Maybelline, Liverpool, Target, STF, Heineken, Chubb, Kellogg's, La Roche-Posay, Supernova Boxing, and Kings League, as well as for artists like Xavi, Óscar Maydon, Natanael Cano, Gabito Ballesteros, Fuerza Regida, and many more... cementing a creative approach that fuses technical precision with artistic freedom.
